The planet Pluto has three moons: Charon, Hydra & Nix. Charon, Pluto's largest moon, also known as Pluto I, was discovered by James Christy in 1978. Hydra and Nix were discovered in 2005 by the Hubble Space Telescope. Nix, Also known as Pluto II, was first observed by Max Mutcher on June 15, 2005, in images taken between May 15-18, 2005. Hydra, also known as Pluto III, was also discover from the same Hubble images by the "Pluto Companion Search Team".
